![]() The Solution: Incorporate an arbor, a blue stone path, plant materials and a water feature to attract wildlife. The arbor provides a stunning background to the new butterfly garden, as well as a sturdy space for climbing vines and sitting. Develop a design that incorporates small ornamental flowering trees and shrubs with low maintenance perennials that provide continuous bloom from May to October and interest throughout the winter months. A bird bath is added to further attract butterflies and birds. |
The Details: We planted Wisteria as a climber and two types of long blooming flowering trees, one flowering in late June and the other in August. We also planted two types of deciduous flowering shrubs which provide a bloom time from June to September. To add winter interest, height and movement to this garden we planted Ornamental grasses and a variety of perennials selected for their bloom time, color and ability to attract wildlife. ![]() see Landscape Transformation #2 > see Landscape Transformation #3 > |
