My love of flowers began in a tropical climate, as a young girl growing up in Puerto Rico. Since moving to Mansfield in 1986 with my husband, we have built a house and are raising our 3 daughters. I started gardening in 1992 to improve the curb appeal of our new home. Gardening became a hobby, then a passion.
My informal education included regularly attending seminars and lectures, visiting garden centers and arboretums and extensive reading on the subject of successful gardening in New England.
In 1998, I began my formal education attending courses at the Rhode Island School of Design.
In 2002, after 18 years working as an accountant, I changed careers and established The Garden Lady as a full-time business, now in its 6th year. During the off season, I remain enrolled at the Harvard University Landscape Institute, where I take courses that continue to help me bring fresh ideas and concepts to my customers' gardens.
Gardening is not just my job, it is my Art. It allows me to be creative while enjoying nature, meeting people and making new friends.
